Abstract

|
This study aims to confirm the existence and influencing factors of Gerotranscendence in the case of elders living within the Metropolitan area in Korea. This study investigated 494 elders over the age of 65 and 40 middle aged group living within the Metropolitan area in order to confirm the existence of Gerotranscendence. The result shows that, First, as a result of
comparison between the middle aged group and the elder group through the average points of Gerotranscendence, that the score of the middle aged group was significantly lower than that of the elder group. Second, it has been proven that the factors influencing Gerotranscendence are everyday life stress, social support, satisfaction of one’s health status, marital status and educational level being over Middle school graduated.
